The EKI-1221IEIMB and EKI-1221PNMB are designed for reliable protocol extensibility and seamless integration with existing network devices. They offer a solution for effi ciently converting data from legacy devices and reduce the possibility of costly software programming errors. With the addition of these protocol gateway devices into existing network infrastructures, customers can build a seamless data path between otherwise incompatible network devices and extend their useful life. ONF Certifi ed OpenFlow switch Lanner: The company is partnering with Brain4Net, a SDN/NFV solution vendor and ONF member, to launch ONF-certifi ed network appliances, optimized by the B4N SwitchOS. The network appliances in this collaboration have successfully completed the certifi cation process under OpenFlow Conformance Testing Program at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), and received the OpenFlow Version 1.3.4 Switch Conformance Test Report. Lanner’s participating x86-based appliances FW-8894 and NCA-5510, along with B4N SwitchOS have become the fi rst OpenFlow switches that have passed extensive rounds of testing and are able to guarantee the highest level of product conformance with OpenFlow specifications as well as the ecosystem-readiness deployment. Ethernet-based controller/drives Advanced Micro Controls: An embedded switch has been added to its line of Ethernet-based integrated stepper controller/drives. It has been designed to integrate with Allen Bradley PLCs using the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) for communication, control and data gathering. The embedded switch, added to the company’s EtherNet/IP integrated stepper drives, offers support for Device Level Ring (DLR) installations to provide a fault tolerant connection. AMCI’s powerful AC line powered stepper motor controller/drives are self contained with their own power supplies and are easily confi gured and commanded through the PLC’s existing software, eliminating the need for a separate plug-in card controller. The embedded Ethernet switch in the networked drives provide a network connection for additional devices and eliminates the need for an external Ethernet switch. DLR topology provides a fault tolerant connection that can detect a break in the network and redirect the network traffi c, maintaining communication and system up-time. IP65 Gigabit switches Kyland Technology: A total of six managed IP65 switches, specifi cally designed for train networks, can also be deployed in other applications in harsh environmental conditions. Since the devices of the 86xx series support routing, both subnets can be formed and coupled with each other. The switches have four Gigabit uplinks (10/100/1000 BASE-TX) and eight, 16 or 24 Fast Ethernet ports (10/100 BASE-TX) with M12 technology. Terminal devices can be powered with PoE/PoE + via data lines. Different redundancy protocols and security mechanisms ensure high-availability and secure data communication. A passive bypass function guarantees that networks remain functional even at multiple points of failure. Further features of the switches, which can be put into operation according to the plug-andplay principle, include high shock and vibration resistance, almost complete insensitivity to electromagnetic interference and a temperature range of -40° to + 70° C. The switches provide industrial approvals such as EN 50155 and EN 45545, and have a metal housing intended for wall mounting. SmartStart LTE industrial router B+B SmartWorx: The SmartStart, industrialgrade Wi-Fi-capable LTE machine-to-machine (M2M) router is both cost-effective, and carrieragile. SmartStart addresses the growing fl exibility needs of service providers and OEMs struggling to connect unattended retail terminals and remote devices in third-party locations. It is also applicable for systems migrating to LTE technology needing to connect to legacy devices. In an effort to future-proof applications and protect investments, SmartStart provides fallback to 3G/2G technologies to ensure that connectivity is reliable in areas where LTE is still under development. The SmartStart LTE router stands out in the market when compared to similar LTE routers. While other M2M devices are hindered by carrier-specific support limitations, such as only Verizon, only AT&T or only EMEA. Similarly, SmartStart solves issues concerning LTE Cat 4 radio overkill, fi xed power input, nonexistent I/O, nonexistent Wi-Fi, annual software licenses and more. Industrial edge appliance Opto 22: The enhanced groov industrial edge appliance now offers OPC-UA drivers for Allen- Bradley and Siemens PLCs, along with support for MQTT protocol communications. Added to the groov View software for web and mobile visualization and the open-source Node-RED development environment, the new release offers engineers, technicians, and developers a comprehensive set of tools for edge deployment in industrial environments. These new embedded capabilities are made possible through forging close partnerships with technology providers Inductive Automation and Cirrus Link Solutions, and are part of the Ignition Edge Onboard program. Smart HART temperature transmitter Moore Industries: A new member of its Associated Intrinsically-Safe (AIS) family of products has been enhanced with the release of the THZ3 compact Dual Input Smart HART Temperature Transmitter in DIN Rail Mount housing with Associated IS sensor connections. The intrinsically-safe -AIS option allows direct connection of sensors located in hazardous areas since it includes an internal intrinsicallysafe barrier in the front end of the THZ3.
