Wireless access points Siemens: Additions have been made to the company’s portfolio of network components with the new Scalance W1788 Access Points, designed to facilitate implementation of the current WLAN Standard IEEE 802.11ac Wave 2 in industrial applications. Users will benefi t from investment protection for industrial networks, future-proof wireless applications and projects in industrial environments. The standard will enable wireless applications with high bandwidths to be implemented at gigabit data rates, for instance, to transmit video data or where a high user density is involved. The integrated switch features two managed Ethernet gigabit ports offering wideranging networking possibilities such as link aggregation.The industrial feature (iFeature) iPRP (Industrial Parallel Redundancy Protocol) ensures reliable redundancy via WLAN even in tough ambient conditions. Scalance W1788 uses MU-MIMO (Multiuser Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology to structure data flows and achieve higher data transmission rates. Wi-Fi gateway modem Weidmuller: The WI-I/O-2-E-N-GBL wireless networking I/O and Wi-Fi gateway accommodates multiple I/O nodes and extends communications to sensors and actuators in local, remote or diffi cult to reach locations. The gateway offers reliable and robust wireless technology with multiple benefi ts for industrial applications, including a simple web-based user interface, and a standards-based wireless protocol with a networking topology that is simple to use and confi gure. The new device can provide IP-based networking across sprawling industrial environments and includes built-in I/O capability for digital and analog inputs and outputs. The modem can be easily confi gured for use globally via a built-in webserver. The unit provides robust and secure two-way wireless communications for challenging indoor and outdoor industrial environments. An internal radio transceiver is designed to operate reliably even in applications with obstructed pathways, using Weidmuller’s ProMesh redundancy protocol. ProMesh networking provides mesh node remote units the ability to automatically detect available connectivity options and make decisions based on link quality. It also offers the ability to set fi xed links, providing a high level of connection reliability and redundancy. IIoT gateway starter kit Moxa: To serve the needs of system integrators and engineers developing applications for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), a new IIoT Gateway Starter Kit includes built-in support for Amazon Web Services (AWS). This dataacquisition ready kit provides a ready-to-use platform that simplifies development of IIoT solutions by providing all the essentials needed to get data from edge devices to cloud services, with little to no programming required. This results in faster development, integration, and time to market, giving system integrators the boost they need. The main component of the starter kit is the ThingsPro Gateway, a ready-to-run dataacquisition software platform that simplifies the complex task of transferring edge data to the cloud. To simplify getting data, ThingsPro Gateway provides a Modbus framework to easily connect with Modbus RTU/TCP devices and SCADA systems. It also includes extensive network support for 4G connectivity, wireless failover, fi rewalls, and VPN to ensure that data can be easily and securely retrieved from remote fi eld sites. To get data into the cloud, it has built-in client support for services such as AWS IoT and Cirrus Link Sparkplug. By integrating the AWS IoT Device SDK, ThingsPro Gateway lets a user set up tags and devices on AWS IoT. Industrial ADSL/VDSL2 router Westermo: An industrial ADSL and VDSL2 router/modem provides robust and secure communications to remote industrial automation equipment. The BRD-355 uses the Internet to cost-effectively inter-connect systems, allowing SCADA, HMI, PLCs and sensors to communicate with each other. By providing remote access to equipment, the BRD-355 helps to remove boundaries, eliminates the need for time-consuming site visits and creates a suitable network infrastructure. The BRD-355 has been designed to support leased line replacement, analogue/dial-up modem replacement, operating broadband over ISDN and providing broadband for utilities. The BRD-355 provides a fi xed broadband connection via ADSL or VDSL. Recent broadband protocol technology changes by telecommunication carriers has forced the industrial communications industry to adapt their solutions. The unit supports most ADSL/VDSL2 communication standards including ADSL Annex J and VDSL2 Vectoring. VDSL2 Vectoring enables data rates to be doubled, helping users to achieve up to 100Mbit/s over copper cables. This is particularly useful when fi bre infrastructure is unavailable. NC integrated controller OMRON: The NC Integrated Controller provides G-Code functionality and numerical control functionality, enabling high-precision complex profi ling and increasing the production capacity of processing machines. With changes and advancement of technologies, products with more diverse and complicated shapes and materials are now increasing while product lifecycles are becoming shorter.
