For each of the three phases, the EL3783 EtherCAT terminal samples voltages up to 400/690 Vrms and currents up to 1 or 5 Arms as instantaneous values with 16 bit resolution. The six terminal channels are evaluated simultaneously based on the EtherCAT oversampling principle, with a temporal resolution of 50 μs, i.e. significantly faster than the cycle time of the controller. Using the EtherCAT distributed clocks functionality, it is also possible to measure synchronously (<< 1 μs) with other EtherCAT devices in systems of virtually any size and precisely detect propagating grid faults, for example. OPC development toolkits Softing: The company's toolkits for integrating OPC Classic and OPC UA in automation applications has been added into Rockwell Automation's Encompass Partner Program. Softing's toolkits help to speed up development of OPC Classic and OPC UA servers. They provide a comprehensive collection of annotated libraries which facilitate the launch of products with OPC functionality. The toolkits cover Windows, Linux, and VxWorks operating systems. Users can select the ANSI C toolkit for adding connectivity to hardware sensors, monitors, devices, or controllers. Use of the C++ and C# toolkits will add OPC and OPC UA to an ERP, HMI, DCS, SCADA, Historian, or software application. The uaModelDesigner can be utilized to create and edit OPC UA Nodeset Files and easy creation of OPC UA Information Models. Other Softing products listed in the program are: mobile testers for cable testing and certification (WireXpert, NetXpert) as well as interface cards. ThinManager software release Rockwell: New visualization, mobility and security features can help operators and technicians produce more with less downtime using the Rockwell Automation software portfolio and industrial-grade thin clients. With a new virtual-screening capability, users can customize how they see applications and data from multiple sources, all without rewriting a single line of code. This capability can help them view the information that is most relevant to their job. New support for wearable technology can also revolutionize how workers access information. For example, a maintenance technician could diagnose and troubleshoot a machine just by looking at it through a Microsoft HoloLens mixed-reality headset. SafetyBridge technology Phoenix Contact: SafetyBridge Technology (SBT) is now available on the Axioline F I/O system. The new modules (logic, 8-point input, and 8-point solid-state output) record and output safety-related signals for easier and more flexible safety applications. SBT can operate as an upgrade to an existing line or a replacement for a fail-safe PLC on a new build. SBT is a flexible solution independent of a particular control system and network. It can be integrated into existing networks using a decentralized distribution strategy. The distributed logic module serves as an alternative to expensive integrated safety processors onboard the PLC. Axioline F features push-in terminals for quick wiring and front-facing DIP switches for easy configuration and module identification. Central smart lighting controller MICROSENS: The company has extended its IP-based lighting solution "Smart Lighting" with a central LED constant power source. Particularly for scenarios with a large number of networked lamps, the 'Central Smart Lighting Controller' facilitates installation, maintenance, and reconstructing. This system is a decentralised, IP-based lighting solution for intelligent buildings. Standard network cables supply both electricity and information for energy-saving, dimmable LED lighting. This reduces the installation effort compared to conventional networked lighting solutions, since it is not necessary to carry out a separate and cost-intensive installation of a 230-V supply and control BUS. The Central Smart Lighting Controller is a multi-port, constant power supply for up to 24 individually controllable LED lamps. Up to 50 W are supplied per lamp by means of standardised twisted-pair cables. The integrated control ensures the generation of uniform light and flicker-free dimming. Motion or presence sensors can be connected via four wired bus inputs. Energy condition monitoring WAGO: A new portfolio of selected energy monitoring components is available for energy consumption measurement, monitoring and integrated quality analysis of electrical supply networks. Designed for production facilities both large and small, this modular and scalable solution provides energy monitoring at all levels from the grid connection to production lines and machines, down to the individual machine modules. The product portfolio includes the Energy Logger D550, Energy Analysers Series and the Energy Meters Series, all fully integrated with Weidmuller’s ecoExplorer software for visualization, analysis, and remote access and operation. The compact Energy Logger D550 offers a costeffective solution to simplify and accelerate the collection and transmission of consumption and process data. T50 web terminal sizes B&R: The company is expanding the Power Panel T50 series with two new sizes. There are now five different sizes to choose from, with diagonals ranging from 5 to 15.6". All T50 models have a glass touch screen and are capable of handling multi-touch gestures. These HMI terminals are compact, easy to configure and suited for premium machine designs.
