Product News 48 industrial ethernet book 4.2017 Smart Access web server module Siemens: The Sinamics V20 Smart Access web server module is designed to mount directly onto the drive, transforming a mobile device or laptop into a virtual operator panel for drive control. By providing a wi-fi hot spot, the wireless connection on this module facilitates setup, programming, commissioning, production monitoring and maintenance on a variety of machines and production equipment. A simple, embedded graphical user interface (GUI) enables easy use of the Sinamics V20 in every phase of operation. No separate app is required, nor is a written operator manual needed, making operation of this new server module and subsequent drive control intuitive and easy-to-learn. Smart Access provides convenient access to the Sinamics V20, up to 100 meters away, even when the drive is located in difficult-to-access installations. Utilizing WPA2 security, the web server module offers full flexibility with both iOS and Android operating systems, along with commonly used HTML5-capable web browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer and others. A built-in, multi-color LED provides quick communication status readout. Security features enable limit/restrict operator access and control functionality. Powerful box and panel PCs Phoenix Contact: A new generation of box and panel PCs in the Valueline range delivers state-of-the-art operating concepts. Important new features include improved performance, comprehensive functions and attractive design of the industrial PCs. Key advantages of these new products are easy implementation of state-of-the-art operating concepts, multi-touch support, along and a system that is enhanced by an attractive design. Robust and sturdy, with display glass suitable for industrial use, the new units are easy to maintain, with easy access to all components, and by offering RAID 1 support for high data security. They also offer multiple display sizes (15.6”/18.5”/21.5”), 10-finger multi-touch, Intel Celeron and Intel Core i5 processors, up to 2 x SATA HDD/SSD (RAID 0,1), up to 2 x DisplayPort, PCI/PCIe slot (optional) and fanless design. Managed industrial switches Advantech: New switches can communicate directly across a diverse range of machine automation devices for smart factory applications. Advanced management capabilities include full L2 managed switching features, including network cybersecurity, management, redundancy and diagnostic functions. For EtherNet/IP applications IGMP Snooping enabled functions allows for intelligent forwarding and filtering of multicast traffic in PLC/HMI/IO control networking. Additional features, such as RSTP, VLAN, QoS, SNMP and IGMP Snooping, offer convenient setting-up of a scalable network and integration for OT/IT networking infrastructure. SE400 series Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus switches communicate directly across a diverse range of machine automation devices. They meet the PROFINET RT (Real-Time) standard with Media Redundancy Protocol and EthernetIP versions meet ODVA certification standards and Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) messaging, PC Interfaces support CAN FD IXXAT: The PC interfaces for CAN FD and CAN are typically used for control, monitoring, analysis or configuration purposes. HMS now introduces the IXXAT USB-to-CAN FD: a new USB-connected version for mobile analysis and configuration. More interface standards will soon be supported, as IXXAT CAN FD versions for Mini PCIe, PCIe 104, XMC and PMC are currently being developed (CAN FD on PCIe is already supported by the existing IXXAT CAN-IB 500/PCIe and CAN-IB 600/PCIe). With a wide range of form factors, the CAN FD interfaces can be easily adapted to various applications. Depending on the version, the CAN FD interfaces offer up to two CAN FD and up to four CAN channels. Customers can also optionally choose galvanic decoupling or add other available interfaces, for example for LIN network connectivity. All CAN FD interfaces come with free driver packages: VCI for Windows as well as ECI for Linux and real-time operating systems (VxWorks and RTX for CAN FD and CAN, INtime and QNX for CAN). The driver packages support all IXXAT PC interfaces with a uniform programming interface. CAN-users can easily change the card type without changing the customer application. Gigabit unmanaged Ethernet switch Antaira: The LNX-C500G series is an IP-30 rated compact 5-port industrial gigabit unmanaged Ethernet switch embedded with five full gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports. The small form factor of this metal casing switch is 30% smaller allowing for a versatile implementation. It is designed to fulfill industrial applications that have small space requirements and need high bandwidth capabilities such as factory automation, security, ITS transportation, power/utility, and water wastewater treatment plants. This series also works well in any other outdoor application that is susceptible to extreme ambient weather conditions. The LNX-C500G i s equipped wi t h 5*10/100/1000TX RJ45 Ethernet ports with a backplane speed of 10G that can support jumbo frames up to 10K. It provides a 12~48VDC redundant power input with reverse polarity and overload current protection. It comes
