Product News 48 industrial ethernet book 2.2018 IoT motor concept Siemens: With Simotics IQ, SD low-voltage motors are fitted with a compact sensor box which captures important operating and condition parameters and transmits them by WiFi to the cloud. These operating data can then be stored and analyzed by the Simotics IQ MindApp on MindSphere. The Simotics IQ MindApp provides the user with technical motor data and valuable analytical results on the operation and condition of the motor and proposes, for example, recommended actions for preventive maintenance. This newly acquired operating data transparency allows further increases in productivity to be achieved. Important key performance indicators are analyzed and displayed in MindApp such as temperature or transient oscillation. This allows the user to react early. By applying specifically configurable warning limits and intelligent analytics, the customer can plan maintenance activities in good time and react before plant downtime occurs. Digital data exchange Softing: A new Industrial IoT Starter Kit represents a fast and easy way to securely link the production line to the cloud. This plugand play solution brings together the power of HPE hardware, Softing software, and Microsoft Azure. A new release, version 4.45, of the dataFEED OPC Suite offers direct symbolic data access to optimized blocks in Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 and -1500 controllers. The suite combines a full package of components for OPC communication and cloud connectivity within a single product. Further features are the secure communication via REST protocols and write access to NoSQL databases. The dataFEED uaGate MB provides for integration of PLC data from Modbus controllers into local applications and the Cloud. This is a new offering besides the dataFEED uaGate SI for the integration of S7 data. Head modules for EtherNet/IP Pilz: Expanding its PSSuniversal 2 remote I/O system with a head module offering an EtherNet/IP interface means that PSSuniversal 2 provides the necessary openness for smooth communication in various control environments on an Ethernet basis. In the PSSuniversal 2 remote I/O system, there is already a head module available with PROFINET PROFIsafe interface, in addition to the new EtherNet/IP head module with CIP safety. This openness makes the data exchange with the various master control systems easier, irrespective of the machine type and the existing system environment. The remote I/O system can be adapted by changing the head module for existing system environments. Exchanging the head module is quick and easy: To do this, users save their configuration data locally on a microSD card. Then you can easily transfer the data to the new head module with EtherNet/IP interface. The I/O modules can be used universally in an identical manner for the various safety protocols. TSN Switch IP TTTech: A new version of its Edge IP Solution product now supports Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) mechanisms. Devices using this product have successfully completed interoperability tests in the Industrial Internet Consortium TSN testbed. After being involved in the specification of the IEEE TSN standards, TTTech is now bringing TSN products to market. Edge IP Solution provides TSN switched endpoint functionality for FPGA based devices. Designed for quick and easy FPGA integration, the product is ideal for innovative switch, PLC or IPC vendors. Version 1.1 of Edge IP Solution includes an IP core that now supports the IEEE 802.1Qbv, IEEE 802.1AS, IEEE 802.1Qcc and IEEE 802.1Qbu standards. The package also provides all of the requisite Linux-based software drivers and stacks. The supported TSN mechanisms enable time-synchronization across devices in the network and allow for scheduled forwarding of messages or preemption of large packets at egress. IoT gateway solutions Bosch Rexroth: With many new features and hardware, the IoT Gateway software V2 provides new capabilities for the networking of machines and plants. Connectivity options include Bosch CISS sensors, OPC DA and other third party controls. New hardware includes a Rexroth industrial PC generation PR based on Linux offering WiFi, USB and HDMI, and remote management options featuring a new device portal for setup, configuration and remote maintenance. The IoT Gateway brings companies closer to the strategic goal of networking all relevant machines and systems and making processes for evaluation and continuous improvement visible. OEMs and end-users require quickly workable connectivity solutions for new machines and retrofit solutions. Industrial Ethernet switches Cisco: New 4000 Series switches provide superior, high-bandwidth switching (Layer 2) and Cisco IOS software-based routing
