Cellular RTUs for IIoT connectivity

Red Lion Controls announces that its RAM industrial routers and cellular RTUs now support the Microsoft Azure and Cumulocity IIoT platforms. This follows the recent announcement that Red Lion’s RAM products support the MQ Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol. The addition of these two platforms means greater flexibility for industrial customers to quickly connect to their choice of leading IIoT cloud platforms.

“Our RAM products provide powerful connectivity for reliable, secure and scalable communications to a variety of IIoT cloud platforms, and with Microsoft Azure and Cumulocity, Red Lion RAM routers and RTUs offer the most embedded IIoT platform integrations on the market today,” said Colin Geis, Director of Product Management, IIoT Red Lion Controls. “The variety of platform integrations we support gives customers the ability to select the provider that is tailored to the specific requirements of their individual market or application, capitalizing on unique features and capabilities without sacrificing ease of deployment or speed of implementation.”

In addition to those announced today, RAMQTT, Red Lion’s embedded MQTT client, simplifies implementations with pre-configured profiles for AT&T M2X, Amazon AWSTM IoT, AutoDesk Fusion Connect and Telenor Connexion. Customers connect using a simple drop-down menu to select their cloud platform of choice. Also, using the RAM Software Development Kit (SDK), connectivity can be enabled with additional platforms, including LEC IQ Web SCADA, Set-Point IPwebcontrol, Skkynet Skkyhub, and Telit deviceWISE.

The combination of industrial protocol support, reliable cellular communication and easy-to-connect cloud support provides customers with a seamless IIoT solution. RAM products also provide a powerful event engine and an integrated I/O database which streamlines the creation and storage of data tags. Other features include multiple serial and Ethernet ports and optional I/O, Wi-Fi and an active GPS to securely monitor and control remote devices over 4G LTE cellular networks.
